Auntie Mame: A Staged Reading
"Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death!"
Theatre Fellowship presents the sophisticated 1956 comedy by the celebrated team of Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee (Inherit the Wind) for two performances (Oct. 26 & Oct. 28). Director Johnny Culver, who helped guide past readings of The Diary of Anne Frank, I Remember Mama and most recently The Vigil, returns for this witty comedy, based on the Patrick Dennis novel about a madcap socialite whose free-spirited life is upended by the arrival of her orphaned nephew. The play was adapted into an Oscar-nominated movie in 1958, starring Rosalind Russell (who created the role on Broadway), and a hit Tony-winning musical in 1966, starring Angela Lansbury.
This performance is free of charge.
