Church House Dedication & Capital Campaign Celebration
With the recent completion of the brownstone restoration project (the centerpiece of the Generation to Generation Capital Campaign), we take this Sunday to recognize and thank the donors who funded the restoration and a variety of other initiatives.
The events begin at 10:40 am outside the West 55th Street entrance. Senior Pastor Scott Black Johnston will dedicate the church house in honor of two generous donors to the campaign.
Following the dedication, prayer and a blessing, the celebration will continue during the 11 am worship service in the Sanctuary. Our guest preacher for the morning is the Rev. Tom Are, senior pastor of Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village, Kansas.
After worship, all are invited to Bonnell Hall for fellowship, live jazz and an assortment of hors d'oeuvres from Roxo Events.
Other highlights of the afternoon include:
- Presentation of a limited-edition commemorative book to all contributors to the campaign.
- A docent-led tour of the Sanctuary, Kirkland Chapel and the Gallery that will include the re-opening of the historic clock tower* to visitors, recognition of major gifts to the campaign, and a preview of upcoming construction and renovation projects.
- A surprise announcement from the senior pastor.
* If you plan to take the clock tower tour, please check in at the Tours table in Bonnell Hall to sign a release form. All visitors to the clock tower are advised to wear flat, preferably rubber-soled shoes.
