Deacons Clothing Drive, Oct 15-22
The Deacons of FAPC are collecting your donations of new and gently used clothing (men's, women's and children's) on behalf of our mission partner Jan Hus Presbyterian Church and Neighborhood House and the Fifth Avenue Ecumenical Partnership, a collaborative ministry of Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church, Saint Thomas Church and St. Patrick's Cathedral.
We welcome all donations, especially men’s and women’s business suits and professional attire, as well as winter sweaters, gloves and coats. T-shirts, socks and toiletries are also welcome. Bring your contributions today, or drop them off at the security desk during the week of Oct.15.
The Homeless Outreach & Advocacy Program at Jan Hus has been active for over 20 years, providing a network of support to the city’s vulnerable in an environment that is warm and welcoming. The program's core activities—a food pantry, Tuesday Night Dinner Program and the clothing store—serve close to 2,500 people every month. Now housed in two separate "boutiques" for women and men, the clothing store provides high-quality garments for job interviews, as well as work and casual clothing, for the homeless community. The store relies entirely on donations.
Created in June 2017, the Fifth Avenue Ecumenical Partnership serves men and women in the midtown area who are experiencing homelessness.
