Advent Service at the Bowery Mission

In lieu of our regular, fourth-Sunday service at the Bowery Mission, we invite you to be part of a special evening of holiday music for the Advent season. Following worship, we will serve dinner to the residents and guests of this historic mission on Manhattan's Lower East Side.

New participants are always welcome. We are in particular need of musicians! Contact Jeanne Lehman French (bowerymission@fapc.org) to learn more.

The Bowery Mission is at 227 Bowery, between Prince and Rivington Streets. For directions, click here.

Founded in 1879, the Bowery Mission is the third-oldest gospel mission in the United States. Located on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, the mission is a place where homeless individuals can begin life again, empowered by a message of salvation and God’s enduring love. Its children's programs, begun in 1894 to help the children of immigrants living in New York City tenements, continue to serve at-risk youth. FAPC has partnered with the Bowery Mission in a ministry of service and outreach to the homeless of New York City for more than 40 years.
