Rachmaninoff Vespers: The Lenten Concert

The FAPC Chamber Choir, directed by Ryan Jackson

In the sixth Lenten concert under Ryan Jackson’s direction, the FAPC Chamber Choir presents a seldom-heard, complete performance of the All-Night Vigil (Vespers) by Sergei Rachmaninoff. One of the world’s most celebrated sacred choral works, Rachmaninoff’s masterpiece transports the listener with its distinctive combination of haunting Russian Orthodox chant and smoldering, turn-of-the-century romanticism.

The FAPC Chamber Choir is joined by several bassi profundi, or deep basses, to help bolster the piece’s famously low bass parts, including the notorious bottom B-flats (more than two octaves below middle C)!

Main Floor: $30
Balcony: $40
Premium: $50 (reserve the seat of your choice)
Seniors: $25
Students: $15
Side Balcony: $15

Tickets are available at, at the church following Sunday worship for several weeks prior to the performance, and at the door.

This event is part of FAPC's 2017-18 concert series. Upcoming performances are listed here.
