Trim the Tree in the David B. Skinner Shelter

Deck the lounge! We will decorate the tree, trim the common room, and enjoy hot cocoa and cookies. Bring your holiday spirit (your favorite holiday treats are welcome, too)!

Shelter host Julia Ward writes, "Every year, for a couple of hours, volunteers and the men who stay at our Shelter get together to decorate for the Christmas season. There will be cocoa, there will be candy canes, and I will accidentally break at least three ornaments. I look forward to the unexpected that pops up along the way: one year, an impromptu sing-a-long carried on for far longer that we would have thought possible; one year, one of the men staying at the Shelter was determined that the tree be evenly adorned with ornaments and created an elaborate system for everyone to decorate from; one year, the party collectively ate more bags of Reese's Christmas trees than I care to share. But every year I have left feeling so glad to know everyone there."

Join us for this annual tradition and mingle with Shelter guests and volunteers. All are welcome! Contact Julia at [email protected] if you plan to attend.
