Here at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church we welcome newcomers with open arms and invite each one to find a place to call "home," within the warm embrace of our "church family!"
New members are received upon completion of the What We Believe class. The What We Believe class is designed for persons interested in exploring the nature of Christian faith and/or membership in Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church. The class session includes a review of core Christian Doctrine, key tenets of Reformed Faith, an overview of Worship and the Sacraments, an in-depth look at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church's mission and ministry, an examination of the meaning of faith and membership, and a history of Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church.
During 2008-2009, the What We Believe class will be offered four times as a two-part course taught on two Sundays from 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm. Participants in the What We Believe classes are welcomed into the life of the congregation on the following Sunday that includes a festive new members breakfast, a meeting with the Session and special recognition during the worship service.
The What We Believe classes are taught by Associate Pastor Rev. Randolph L.C. Weber with all FAPC clergy participating.
