Worship

At Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church, we praise God communally on Sunday mornings and in individual acts of service throughout the week.

From Homecoming Sunday (the second Sunday of September) through Memorial Day, worship services begin at 9:30 am in Kirkland Chapel and 11 am in the Sanctuary. During the summer, we have a single worship service, beginning at 10 am in the Sanctuary. We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of the month, and infant baptisms usually take place on the second Sunday of the month. During special liturgical seasons such as Advent and Lent, we hold additional services, which are listed on the Worship Calendar. Throughout the week, the Sanctuary and chapel are open for meditation and prayer.

Children are an important part of our community, and we welcome them in worship. Our Children’s Choir and Youth frequently are part of our Sunday morning services, and their annual Christmas Pageant is one of the highlights of our Advent season. Family Ministries also incorporates a children’s worship service into the Sunday school program, every week in the Christian Education Center.
