The Infant & Toddler Nurseries
The Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church is committed to helping you teach your children to know and love God. That commitment begins with Kindership. Kindership is dedicated to nurturing 0- 3 year old children and their parents through fellowship and Christian education.
Kindership runs two nurseries staffed with both loving, experienced paid care givers and parent volunteers. The infant nursery (Room 1 in the LaDane Williamson Christian Education Center) is for newborn babies to the walking stage. The Toddler Nursery (Rooms 2 and 3 in the Christian Education Center) is designed for steady walkers.

The safety of our children is a top priority. To ensure their security, Kindership applies a security tag system that prevents a child’s release to an adult without a proper ID tag. For more information, contact the Family Ministries office at 212.247.0490 or

Transitioning Children
Transitions for toddlers and babies alike are often tricky. Our nurturing staff and parent volunteers will do all they can to work with parents to make the transition into the nursery as smooth as possible. Pagers are available to all parents with children in the nurseries so that they may be alerted if transition problems persist in their absence.
Occasionally, of course, parents may need to stay with their child, and Kindership welcomes such involvement.
Child Safety
The safety of our children is a top priority. To ensure their security, Kindership has instituted a special security tag system that prevents a child's release to an adult without a proper ID tag. Temporary tags will be made for those without permanent tags. In addition, parents are asked to note any special care instructions, such as food allergies or physical limitations, on the weekly attendance sheet to ensure that all of the children receive the care and attention they need.
Child Health
Common colds cannot be avoided, particularly during the winter months. However, to protect other children from more serious illnesses, we do ask that any children with high communicable illnesses or conditions, such as the flu, be kept at home.
