Bowery Mission

FAPC members lead worship at the Bowery MissionFor more than 40 years, FAPC has been holding a worship service at 6:00 pm on the fourth Sunday of the month at the historic Bowery Mission in lower Manhattan. Founded in 1879, the Bowery is the third oldest gospel mission in the United States. It is a place where homeless men can begin life again empowered by Jesus’ message of salvation and God’s love for them. This simple act of joining with another faith community for a Sunday service allows us to be the hands and feet of Christ to those struggling daily without food, shelter or hope.

"For the past several years, coming together with the other faithful FAPC members to lead the men and women of the Bowery Mission in worship has helped me to mature in my own faith and understanding of God’s work in our world. As we share God’s word together and the men share their testimonies, I continue to be humbled and awed at how and where God chooses to reveal Himself and His will for our lives. If you choose to participate in this meaningful outreach, you must be prepared to receive much more than you give!" - Alina Lee

Volunteer opportunities including: singing, playing an instrument, reading a lesson, praying aloud or in private, serving the homeless their evening meal or simply ministering with your presence for worship. Total maximum time commitment is 5:45 pm - 8:00 pm. Join us for an uplifting evening as we share the love and grace of God.
