Adult Education

Adult EducationThrough the Adult Education ministry, we seek to be involved in God's deeper work of transforming our minds, our hearts, our community and our world. We believe that by knowing and understanding God and our neighbor better, we can love and serve God and our neighbor better.

Each semester, Adult Education offers a number of classes, studies, dialogue sessions, film screenings and more. These classes address traditional, as well as contemporary, disciplines such as

  • theology
  • Biblical study
  • spirituality
  • church history
  • political events
  • sexuality
  • finances
  • ethics
  • world religions

Many of our instructors are homegrown, but we also host visiting scholars and lecturers. Recent guests have included Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Marilynne Robinson, theologian Walter Brueggemann, Chinese Christian artist He Qi, the late basketball star and Sudanese activist Manute Bol, anti-poverty advocate Abigail Disney and humorist A.J. Jacobs.

All events are free of charge and open to the public. Advance registration is not required for most classes. Take a look at our course list and engage in Adult Education where learning together means growing together.
