Membership means more than coming to worship on Sunday. Membership says, "I belong."

Members Make a Difference

Membership means getting more deeply engaged with the diverse ministries of the church and more deeply rooted in a life of faith. Members have a voice in choosing the leaders of the congregation and setting the direction of the church. Members pledge their support to the future of FAPC by giving of their time, talent and resources.

We encourage you to view the video above to hear what some of our members have to say about the rewards of membership at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church.

How to Join

We offer our New Members Class four to six times a year. In a single, half-day session, we review traditional Christian doctrine and key tenets of the Reformed tradition, provide an overview of worship and the sacraments, and give you an opportunity to meet the pastors and members of the senior staff. (We also serve lunch.)

The New Members Class is not only for those who are ready for membership in the church. We also welcome those of you who want to learn more about the Presbyterian tradition, and about how we live out our faith through worship, learning, service and fellowship at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church.

If you decide to move forward with membership, we will treat you to a special breakfast, introduce you to members of the Session, and welcome you during worship as a fully fledged member of FAPC.

Upcoming Classes

Our next New Members Class is on Sunday, April 30 (12:15 until 3 pm). We meet in the Corning Logan Room on the fifth floor of the Curry Church House. Child care is available upon request.

The April 30 class is the final class of the 2016-17 program year. New dates will be announced for the fall.

If you have questions, or you are ready to enroll, contact Jenny Valdez ( We will save a chair for you!
