A Singing Church

Fifth Avenue Presbyterian has long been known as a singing church, and the music program here is integral to the life of the congregation. Each week’s musical offerings seek not only to express the love and glory of God, but also to enhance the experience of worshipers through inspiring, artistic expressions of praise. Listeners enjoy the focus it brings to worship services; those creating the music find in it nourishment for their spiritual lives.

There is a place within FAPC’s music program for anyone who wishes to learn, grow and serve God through music. During the program year (from Homecoming Sunday to Memorial Day), the Choir rehearses each Wednesday in Jones Auditorium from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm. The Children's and Youth Choirs

The Children's Choir and Youth Choir provide opportunities for young people to express their love of God through song. Choristers learn to read music, develop good singing habits and appreciate the many styles of great sacred repertoire.

The Children's Choir rehearses each Sunday at 10:15 am (following 9:30 am Sunday School classes) from September until June. Children in grades 1-5 are invited to join. Special performances by the Children's Choir include the annual Christmas Pageant, Family Christmas Eve Service and the Spring Musical. The Youth Choir, for grades 6-12, rehearses each Sunday at 12:00 pm (following the 11:00 am worship service).
