Theatre Fellowship of Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church announces auditions on Wednesday, Feb. 21, and Thursday, Feb. 22, for Ken Ludwig's 2012 comedy, "The Game's Afoot, or Holmes for the Holidays."
Auditions will be held on the fifth floor of the Curry Church House from 5:30 until 9 pm each day. Call-backs are scheduled for 9 am until 2:30 pm on Saturday, Feb. 24. Rehearsals begin Tuesday, March 6. The play is set to open on Thursday, April 19, in Jones Auditorium, and will play for 10 performances.
For breakdowns and to schedule an audition, contact Janice Hass ([email protected]).
"The Game's Afoot" is set in 1936 at the Connecticut estate of William Gillette, the celebrated actor/playwright who performed as Sherlock Holmes for years. When a guest is murdered during a Christmas party with his colorful theater troupe in attendance, Gillette fancies himself just the man to solve the crime. Ludwig received the Edgar Award for Best Play of 2012, presented by the Mystery Writers of America.
Lead producer of "The Game's Afoot" is Theatre Fellowship veteran Lucy Cabrera, who produced 2014's "Nude With Violin" by Noel Coward. Returning to direct the show is Doug Paulson, who helmed last year's successful production of "Enchanted April."
