A World In Need

For more than two centuries, FAPC has invested in serving those in need—from the streets of New York to cities and villages around the world.

Update on the 2016 Mission Trip to Egypt

The mission trip to Egypt, originally scheduled for Feb. 12-24, 2016, has been canceled. We made this decision after consultation with Jennifer Cate, executive director of Hands Along the Nile Development Services (HANDS) and FAPC member (and Egyptian native) Suzan Habachy, who planned to lead the trip. Cate and Habachy have been in close contact with family and colleagues in Egypt regarding the political situation there.

FAPC sponsored a mission trip to Egypt in 2010. Participants on that trip have kept Egypt at the forefront of FAPC’s global outreach. With their support, HANDS became an FAPC mission partner in 2013. HANDS is a U.S.-based nonprofit that promotes intercultural relationships and economic development on behalf of Egyptian communities.

For the last five years, returnees from the first mission trip also have organized the Egyptian Craft Sale at FAPC. The popular sales benefit the Zabbaleen, an impoverished community of Coptic Christians the group met in 2010. The 2016 Craft Sale is set for May 11-12 in the LaDane Williamson Christian Education Center.
