FAPC Serves

FAPC's annual, all-congregation day of service is coming up on Saturday, May 6, 2017.

FAPC Serves returns to Holmes on Saturday, May 6!

Once a year, the congregation of FAPC comes together on a single Saturday to bear witness to the love of Christ. Over the past five years, nearly 500 members and friends of FAPC have participated in FAPC Serves. This day of service has become one of the most looked-forward-to Outreach events of the year.

You and your family are invited to be part of our fifth annual day of service. Building on the success of last year's event, we will return to serve our upstate mission partner, Holmes Presbyterian Camp & Conference Center. We've got a range of work projects lined up for you and your family.

The day begins with registration (for volunteers taking the bus), starting at 8 am in the LaDane Williamson Christian Education Center. The bus will depart, at 8:45 am sharp, and head to Holmes. There will be breakfast and a commissioning service for all volunteers upon arrival. Afterward, volunteers will meet with their team leaders and work on site until early afternoon. We'll celebrate your effort and share photos during worship the next morning.

What's this event about?

FAPC Serves was created by the Outreach Committee as a means of:

  • Encouraging community service.
  • Highlighting the multi-generational aspect of service.
  • Strengthening our ties with a local partner in ministry.
  • Demonstrating the love of Christ by volunteering time and talent.
  • Learning from an organization which we partner with.
  • Experiencing God in new and exciting ways.

We welcome returning volunteers and first-timers to join us this year. And invite friends!

Here's how you can be part of it.

On the signup form, we will ask you to identify your top three choices of where you will spend the day. We will make every effort to assign you to the site of your choice, but it's first come/first served, so sign up early! Once you are assigned to a project, your team leader will be in touch with you.

If you are taking the bus, please plan to arrive at the LaDane Williamson Christian Education Center by 8 am on Saturday, May 6. You will check in with your team and receive your t-shirt that morning.
