Small Groups are the heart of NEXT Ministries. Various opportunities for small groups and fellowship groups are offered throughout the year. This fall, NEXT is offering the following small groups and would be thrilled to have you join:

• "Oh Lord, Destroy Them" - A Study of the Psalms. Every other Monday evening, starting Oct. 3.
  We often look to the Book of Psalms as a source of comfort and praise, but many of the psalms end in pleas to God to destroy our enemies, which can be unsettling or confusing. Let's look deeper into these songs and poems and gain insight from each other as we explore several Psalms that include this strange split personality of uplifting the holy and damning the wicked.  
• "The Friendship of Women: The Hidden Tradition of the Bible." Every other Tuesday evening, starting Oct. 4.
  Join the Women's Small Group as we delve into Joan Chittister's book by the same title. In this study, we'll look deeply into biblical stories of female friendships and explore often overlooked experiences of certain women in both the Hebrew Bible and New Testament.  
• UP@7 - Wednesday mornings, starting Sept. 28.
  Rise and Shine! Come join Up@7 Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 7 am in the Romeyn Room, on the fifth floor of the church house, as we continue our discussion of Romans 14-18. Up@7 is a small group of dynamic professionals that meet Wednesday mornings at FAPC from 7 am to 8 am. All are welcome! 

NEXT also offers Fellowship Groups that are organized by neighborhood and meet the third week of every month. These gatherings include food, fellowship, prayer and fun.  Let us know where you live, and we'll get you involved!

• Teacher's Fellowship Group
  Share the unique joys and struggles of working in a NYC school with fellow teachers and coaches.  Whether you work in a classroom or in support of one, come join us for a time of sharing, laughter, and fellowship.
• Neighborhood Fellowship Groups
  Various fellowship groups gather for potluck and prayer in various neighborhoods and boroughs of NYC. If you're interested in a monthly gathering of friends to connect, unwind, support and encourage each other, look no further!
