What will Virtual Fifth Avenue Kids Camp look like?

We will be using Zoom to create a 2 hour, online, interactive Kids Camp experience for your child. Here’s what a typical day will look like:

  • 10 am – 10:20 am: Opening Assembly!
Kids will logon to Zoom where we’ll start off our morning with a welcome, Knights of North Castle theme video and song.
  • 10:20 am – 10:35 am: Breakout Groups!
We’ll use the Breakout Rooms on Zoom to gather as small groups with one adult volunteer and a small group of children. During this time your child will be able to share highs and lows with their group, play some games and get to know one another.
  • 10:35 am – 10:55 am: Bible Storytelling!
We’ll become the Knights of North Castle as we discover the armor of God this week – truth, justice, peace, faith and salvation. We will explore the stories of Shadrach, Meshach and Abdnego; David and Goliath; Mary; Jesus; and Paul and Silas!
  • 10:55 am – 11:15 am: Craft Time!
Kids will receive all craft supplies in a packet that we will mail out in advance. We will gather back as a large group for a craft demonstration video and will do the craft together.
  • 11:15 am – 11:35 am: Music!
Make sure you have some space to move for Music time! We will be learning some dances to go along with the great Knights of North Castle music videos.
  • 11:35 am – 11:50 am: Breakout Groups!
During this breakout time, groups will talk about the theme and Bible story for the day, and do their activity books together.
  • 11:50 am – 12 pm: Closing Assembly!
We’ll meet back together as a large group for a closing video, and goodbye until tomorrow!

A Note for Parents

I’m sure you wish that this summer’s Fifth Avenue Kids Camp were an in-person event, just as we do. We are truly going to miss seeing all of the children singing, laughing, learning, and growing together this summer at Kids Camp. Still, we hope we can offer your children the very best alternative with this virtual program.

As the most constant part your child’s life, you have also been most important in helping your child know how loved they are by God, by you, and by others, and in guiding their spiritual growth and formation. Thank you for all you do in the work of daily discipleship, and thank you for your role in making sure this summer we have the very best Kids Camp program possible!

Because we know you’ve already been busily adapting to the current reality of sheltering at home, we want to make this as easy as possible. With that in mind, once you get your child logged onto Zoom each morning, our leaders will take the wheel! The only place your child may need help is with a craft, if they can’t get something open or need help with a sticker or two!

Please know that we are praying that you will “Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power!” as we walk together through this discipleship journey.

Thanks to you for joining in ministry through Fifth Avenue Kids Camp!
