The Chamber Choir of Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church, directed by Ryan Jackson, with Patrick Kreeger, organ and piano.

Experience this country’s rich sacred music heritage through stunning choral arrangements of beloved American folk hymns such as “How Can I Keep from Singing?” and “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing.” Most of these songs were popularized in the early 19th century, but the amateur musicians who wrote them continued a long tradition of pairing secular tunes with new religious texts. Choral composers of recent decades, such as Alice Parker and Paul Halley, have given new life to this spirited music in beautiful settings for world-class vocal ensembles. Join the Chamber Choir for this joyful celebration of American hymnody.

Tickets (starting at $15) will be on sale on Sunday mornings in the Chesnut Gallery beginning several weeks before the performance. Tickets also are available online.
