This Fall we will be offering virtual programming for our children beginning on Homecoming Sunday, September 12th.
Sunday School • 9:30 am
All children in Preschool (age 3) through 5th grade are invited to join us each Sunday in the LaDane Williamson Christian Education Center to discover our place in God’s story! This Fall we will be learning what it means to Welcome All, centering the practice of Christian hospitality. When we are intentional about welcoming all, we are affirming the worth of all of God’s people. This unit features stories rooted in hospitality from both Old and New Testaments of the Bible. The hope of this practice is for each person to look at their own idea of welcoming all and ask themselves if a friend or stranger would experience the welcoming spirit of Christ in them! After a large group gathering and singing, kids will move to age specific classrooms with wonderful Sunday school teachers who will explore the theme through art, games, drama and Bible study!
Children’s Church • 11:15 am
All children begin in worship at our 11 am service. Approximately 15 minutes into the service, children in Preschool through 2nd grade are invited to come forward, where our staff will meet them and lead them downstairs to the LaDane Williamson Christian Education Center for their own exploration of worship. This year we will be discovering active, hands-on lessons to understand how the Christian Church marks time using stories, prayers, music and crafts!
The Children’s Choir and Youth Music
Our choir provides opportunities for young people to express their love of God through songs. Choristers learn to read music, develop good singing habits and appreciate the many styles of great sacred repertoire. Our children and youth are featured frequently in Sunday worship, but our biggest performances of the year are the Christmas Pageant and the Family Ministries Christmas Eve service. We welcome all children and youth to celebrate God’s gift of music every Sunday at 10:15 am (right after Sunday School), with regular rehearsals from September through May.
