Members Make a Difference
Membership means getting more deeply engaged with the diverse ministries of the church and more deeply rooted in a life of faith. Members have a voice in choosing the leaders of the congregation and setting the direction of the church. Members pledge their support to the future of Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church by giving of their time, talent and resources.
How to Join
Prospective members come from many different backgrounds. Some are lifelong Presbyterians. Others are new to the reformed tradition. Still others are new to Christianity (and faith) altogether. Our membership classes are designed to meet you wherever you are in your spiritual journey.
Here is our schedule for the spring. Please note that the April 26 and May 3 classes are required for membership.
Thursday, April 23, 6:30 pm • Open House: Fifth Avenue
If you are new to Fifth Avenue, or if you are a member who’s interested in getting more involved in this community, this first-time event is just for you. Our pastors and senior staff will be on hand to talk with you about our ministries, programs and volunteer opportunities. And if you are considering membership, we’ll talk with you about that, too.
Sunday, April 26, 9:30 am • Belonging in Community
A conversation about the responsibilities and rewards of being part of a Christian community.
Sunday, May 3, 9:30 am • Believing in the Church
A look at what makes the Presbyterian tradition unique and what lies ahead for this denomination.
Once you decide to move forward with membership, we will treat you to a special breakfast, introduce you to members of the Session, and welcome you during worship as a fully fledged member of the congregation.
To register for any of these classes, contact Morgan King.
Want to Talk?
Joining a church is a big step in your personal journey of faith. If you are not ready to sign up for a class, let’s have a conversation first. Contact Morgan to schedule a time to speak with one of our pastors. We look forward to meeting you!
