Stations of the Cross

The Stations of the Cross is a devotional exercise typically associated with the Catholic and Anglican traditions. The practice employs 14 icons or images (the “stations”) that depict milestones along Jesus’ journey to the cross. Séamus Campbell, director of Outreach Ministries and an Old Catholic priest, leads this evening’s spiritual pilgrimage.

Tonight we gather in the Chesnut Gallery, where a dual exhibition, Two Roads to Calvary, is currently on view. This exhibition presents the Stations of the Cross as depicted by two contemporary New York artists, Laura Fissinger and Laura James.

This class is part of a series of seminars on spiritual disciplines we are offering throughout Lent. Each class is designed to provide the basic techniques of each discipline, while allowing ample time to start practicing them yourself. We encourage you to try as many of these classes as possible—perhaps you will find one (or more) that will become a standard part of your spiritual journey! Upcoming classes are listed on the right.

All classes are free and open to all. Registration is not required, but it will help us to know how many participants to expect. Please RSVP to Jaime Staehle ([email protected]) if you plan to join us.
