Shadowlands: Staged Readings

Theatre Fellowship presents dramatic readings from William Nicholson’s acclaimed play, based on the relationship of Oxford don and author C.S. Lewis and the American writer Joy Gresham. Shadowlands was also the basis of a 1993 film starring Anthony Hopkins and Debra Winger. Renowned Lewis expert James Como takes on the Lewis role, with Broadway veteran (and Fifth Avenue member) Jeanne Lehman in the role of Joy. Other Fifth Avenue performers are featured as well.

This event (starting at 2 pm in Jones Auditorium) is free of charge and open to all.

Before the play, Dr. Como will present a special Adult Education program, “With Joy: The Shadowlands Brighten,” at 12:30 pm in the Corning Logan Room. He will discuss Lewis’ final novel, Till We Have Faces (1956).

Join us for a full afternoon of C.S. Lewis!
