Worship Is Suspended

March 12, 2020

Dear Friends in Christ,

Yesterday, shortly after we announced increased precautions in response to COVID-19, the World Health Organization declared that we are in the midst of a global pandemic.

Earlier today, in consultation with the Clerk of Session, the president of the Trustees and senior staff, we made the decision to suspend Sunday worship at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church, beginning this Sunday.

There will be no live worship services at the church for the foreseeable future. Please do not come to Fifth and 55th on Sunday morning.

While we will not gather in person, there will still be an opportunity for you to worship with us! This Sunday morning, we will post a video of a Third Sunday in Lent worship service with special prayers, music and a sermon for this challenging time. This video will be available on fapc.org and our YouTube channel.

I will provide more details tomorrow in my regular Friday morning email. Please plan on worshipping with us this Sunday, wherever you will be!

If you do not receive our Friday emails, now is a good time to subscribe. You can subscribe to the emails, or update your contact information, here.

We appreciate your patience during this time. And we appreciate your prayers.

Grace and peace to you this day.

Scott Black Johnston
Senior Pastor
